Peg Feeding

Peg feeding is a half-day course. We discuss the anatomy and physiology of the digestive system. Guidance and critical terms of enteral feeding, the surgical insertion of PEG and indications for PEG feeding and the risks involved, and we also include how to recognise complications.

We look at the roles and responsibilities in PEG feeding and guidance on administrating medication via PEG. Principles of nutritional administration: gravity, bolus, pump, and care of equipment. We end the course with a written test.
