This is a full-day course syllabus with an introduction to diabetes. You will learn about the pancreas, glucose and insulin and the different types of diabetes, which discuss which medication is used, how to store it correctly, the use of pens, and sites for administering with consideration of infection control.
We demonstrate how to monitor blood glucose, Hypoglycemia and Hyperglycemia. Complications and well-being are also covered and linked to other conditions; we also look into how diet and lifestyle impact the disease. The day ends with a written test.
